Yesterday morning when we got up, there was nothing. No snow whatsoever so we turned on the news to see what was going on. Well, Kentucky got some and we were naming off the school closings and came up on Murray. Alex said "What? Skylar got snow and we didn't! Man!" That was funny. Anyway, Alex went to school and alittle later Ryan & I got Cam down for a nap so we layed down too. Around 11:30 Brent called, waking us up, to see if we still wanted to go out for lunch and I looked out the window and it was snowing hard. I was freaking out because I was afraid they had let school out and Alex would be waiting on us and we weren't there. Another reason I was freaked because Brent said our phones weren't working that good. I guess because we still have our Paducah numbers and with them getting alot of snow over there it had an effect on the phone lines or something. I thought the school might've tried to call and couldn't get ahold of us. So Ryan turned on the news and thank goodness, it said that Jackson R-2 schools would be closing at 12:30. I got in the shower and Ryan got ready to go get Alex. Of course Alex was all excited.
We met Brent, Suzie, and Cole at that Mexican place over by Myers Bakery to eat and came home. Alex wanted to play in the snow so bad so him and Ryan packed on the snow pants and boots and headed out. By that time Cam was ready to nap again so I got him down and enjoyed some peace and quiet. Ryan and Alex finally came back in with pictures and video to show. I posted some on here for you guys to see. They had alot of fun. I'd love to play in the snow but I just don't have any clothes for that. I need to get some, it's just that I'd hate to spend money on that when it only snows once or twice a year here.
Last night we kept watching to see if school was going to stay closed and finally it was posted. No school for today. Alex was glad. You know what, we went to bed at 10:30 last night. That never happens especially with me. I don't go to bed that early but last night I was exhausted so I did. I wanted Ryan to take off work because it was supposed to do more but he wouldn't do it. I woke up around 2 this morning and I looked outside and it was coming down hard and was afaird Ryan was going to get called anytime and have to drive in it. Well, Cam woke up like 30 mins later and I couldn't get him back to sleep until 4. It was still snowing. Turns out Ryan didn't get called until late this morning and the roads were pretty much clear then. Thank you road worker people. Ryan did hate to leave. He wanted to play in the snow some more. Alex went out today for a couple of minutes while Cam watched from the front door. Yes, the door was wide open. It was cold but Cam wouldn't have it any other way. He wanted to go out too. Alex would throw snowballs right in front of the door and Cam loved that. Alex would bring a chunk of snow to Cam and it was so funny watching him touch it. It's like he was scared of it or something. I wish Cam was old enough to play in the snow but he's just too little plus he doesn't have any snow clothes either. Tonight the boys and I ventured out to Target. I love that store. Before we moved here I didn't know what I was missing. I can't believe Paducah doesn't have one. And can't believe Cape doesn't have a Fridays or a Chucky Cheese. Paducah and Cape are alot a like though, I think.
I would've taken some more snow pics today but Ryan took the camera to work with him. Butthead. Said with love and affection : )
